My boss called me to his office and asked about MY WEB SITE. I played dumb and asked him back "what web site?"
He told me he got the internet usage logs, and my usage was right up there at the top. I tried not to be panic and admitted to him that I was doing some web sites for my personal use (told him that it was the English web site for my friends at the IT classes, well that wasn't a lie. It was half-truth. I thought it wouldn't look too useless that way.)
He said he figured it might be homework or something I did for my IT classes (Thank god for that. At least I am not looking really bad if he thought of me that way.) I told him I have already quit the course.
After having talked to him for a while, I found out that it wasn't really my web site development that caused me the trouble. It was the IM (which I knew that I shouldn't be using it at work, but still couldn't help it.)
I had a "little" hunch that this would be coming, but I still I was too stupid and naive to believe that the system wouldn't noticed me. Well, my hunch was right (again) so it did notice what I was doing.
I guess my boss wasn't too serious about this, as it is just the first time he warned me on sth. I think I should get away OK this time. He just wants me to keep it down, which I will.
But still, I felt pretty bad about it. I feel VERY disappointed with myself that I have done something wrong (and got caught!! Why it is always too late to stop doing what we knew we aren't supposed to be doing?)
