It has been months since I filed the tax form, and I haven't got my tax refund yet. All of my colleagues got theirs. So I called the Call Center a couple weeks back to check it out.
At first the lady who answered my request said she looked up the database with my ID number and didn't find it. So she wanted my tax ID number. I didn't have my tax ID card handy, as the revenue department announced last year that they will no longer use tax ID number, they will use use ID number as identification.
After I insisted that I have filed my form with my ID number, not tax ID number, she had me repeated my ID number. And there it was, she got the number wrong (she should have repeated the number when I told her!) After a while she finally found my form, and said that it was still in the review process.
This year I filed my tax form via internet for the first time. Filing tax form via interent does not require other documents. They said if they wanted to see any documents, they would let us know.
After it has taken so long, I was pretty sure they needed to see my tax deduction documents. This time I had additional tax deductible items that I didn't have the year before. I bought a few retirement funds last year. I should have just filed the tax the normal way, so they could see all the documents they needed, but I wanted to try the new way.
Last Monday (about a week after I called Call Center), I got a letter from the revenue department. They asked me to send the documents for their review if I still want my tax refund. Of course, I still want to get my refund, so I mailed them yesterday (at least they allowed me to mail it, otherwise I will have to skip work).
I will call again on Monday to see if they got it. And hopefully they are satisfied and decide to give me the refund in a month or so.
